Katherine Siboni is a curator and writer, with over a decade of experience developing written content and programming for some of New York’s most critically engaged galleries, including Greene Naftali, Martos Gallery, and Derosia. With a graduate degree in Critical and Curatorial Studies from Columbia University, Katherine is committed to developing well-researched, elucidating texts to contextualize artists’ work within the broader discourse, both for commercial gallery programs and as an independent contributor to various publications. As a gallery director, Katherine has organized critically and commercially successful shows, brought important artists and estates onto gallery rosters, and played a significant supportive role in museum exhibitions. The exhibitions she organized for Martos Gallery received regular praise in The New York Times, and her curatorial projects have also been reviewed in Artforum, New York Magazine, The New Yorker, Frieze, and many other significant publications. As an art historian and researcher, she has significant experience with estates, including revitalizing the work of Julie Becker for the late artist’s first retrospectives at ICA London and MoMA PS1, and discovering the work of Bob Smith and securing the estate’s representation by Martos Gallery. In 2015, as a graduate student at Columbia, Katherine completed a thesis on the early work of Ericka Beckman under Dr. Branden W. Joseph. In recent years, Katherine has reviewed exhibitions for Artforum, The Brooklyn Rail, Texte Zur Kunst, The Public Review, and The Whitney Review. Having cultivated an international network of artists, gallerists, and curators, Katherine is regularly relied upon for her skills in composing original texts and editing the work of others.
Katherine is currently the Curator & Program Manager of Art Omi Pavilions @ Chatham. She hosts a monthly segment on Montez Press, Object Record, featuring interviews with artists.
